BIOGRAPHY

Mary McGuinness was born in Fort Hood, Texas to a korean mother and irish special forces father, and as a young child she lived with relatives in Seoul, before being taken in by her Grandfather and his wife in New York. Music became both her sanctuary and compass, and these formative experiences shaped her artistry and writing with themes of belonging, identity, and hope.

Her career began in classical music, studying at the Manhattan School of Music and performing in Europe before moving onto Broadway, where she performed at the Neil Simon Theater for eighteen months. Recording and touring for years under another project, she scored two singles on Billboard, one going to #1.

Her music lives at the crossroads of folk-americana and classic country, shaped by personal history and stories to tell. She is now rooted in Nashville, where she made her latest album, “Shadowcatcher” produced by Joe Pisapia (KD Lang/Ben Folds), which marked a turning point toward her most authentic voice. Mary was able to fulfill a lifelong dream and toured Ireland, as well as performing at “London meets Nashville” to support “Shadowcatcher.” Most recently, new recordings at FAME studios in Muscle Shoals, AL produced by Dylan LeBlanc, will start releasing in May 2026.
